Diesen Schumann kannte ich bisher noch gar nicht. Es gibt also immer wieder eine Entdeckung, auch im scheinbar bekannten Bereich. Etwas zu stark vom Klavier dominiert finde ich dieses Werk schon.

Un magnifico, quanto poco frequentato Beethoven eseguito con le giuste intenzioni interpretative. Tutto davvero eccellente! Bravi. ❤

Very nice performance, but I'm always dismayed (and rather puzzled) when the repeat in the finale is skipped. To my mind, hearing the energetic section twice provides a better balance to the mournful & intensely emotional final section - a classic case of a composer having good reason for repeating a section.

This is classy musicianship and very artistic and informed playing. What a treat. Particularly in the first movement, one often feels that Brahms is alternating passionately forged and inventive melodies, with almost satirical quotes of Schumann-esque or Schubertian frivolities.
